Minister-president Curaçao: de heer Gilmar Pisas (fractie MFK) heeft in een brief aan de Nederlandse staatssecretaris van Koninkrijksrelaties en Digitalisering: mevrouw Alexandra van Huffelen aangegeven dat hij de noodzaak voelt om een ​​Koninkrijksconferentie/vergadering bijeen te roepen om verschillende punten met betrekking tot, de COHO, consensus Koninkrijkswet (Caribbean Body for Reform and Development). De landen van het Koninkrijk zijn Aruba, Sint Maarten, Curaçao en Nederland. Ze werken zelfstandig aan sommige zaken en werken samen aan andere (Koninkrijkszaken). BEWEGING VAN HET PARLEMENT In een motie (1 september 2020) heeft het Curaçaose parlement besloten om geen andere consensuswet (van de eens bestaande sinds 2010) in te voeren. De vrees bestaat dat met de nieuwe consensuswet het parlement zal worden gedwongen om nog steeds de consensuswet in te voeren, waarbij de parlementsmotie van 2020 over het hoofd wordt gezien. Blijkbaar zou COHO de Koninkrijkslanden verplichten om alleen verantwoording af te leggen aan de Rijksministerraad. Het lijkt erop dat COHO niet meetelt met een meerderheid in het parlement om wet te worden. He also expressed that base on the social debate and what has happened in Parliament, the Curacao Government (MFK and PNP political party) think that in the COHO law proposal, there are important groups in the society like Parliament, who may think that the COHO law proposal is 'undermining autonomy' for Curacao and its self governance, or it is not beneficial for Curacao or the other autonomous countries within the Kingdom to accept COHO. The countries of the Kingdom are Aruba, St Maarten, Curacao and the Netherlands. They work independently on some issues and work together on others (Kingdom affairs). PARLIAMENT MOTION In a motion (September 1st 2020), Curacao Parliament, decided to not introduce other consensus law (from the once already existing since 2010). There is a fear that with new consensus law, Parliament will be stepped upon to still introduce the consensus law, overlooking the 2020 parliament motion. Apparently COHO would obligate the Kingdom countries to give account only to the Kingdom Council of Ministers (Rijksministerraad). It appears that COHO does not count with a majority in Parliament to become law. Note: If a Kingdom Act only applies to 2 or more countries within the Kingdom, this is called a Consensus Kingdom Act.
