THE JJOSEPHA NEWS TRUST PRINCIPLES
JJosepha News is committed and dedicated to upholding The JJosepha News Trust Principles and preserving its integrity, trustworthiness, independence, estrangement from favoritism and freedom from biasness in the gathering and dissemination of data that is transcribed into information and reported as news.
THE JJOSEPHA NEWS TRUST PRINCIPLES – THE HISTORY
The JJosepha News Trust Principles were created in 2015, in the midst of an investigative research into the status of Journalism in Curacao and the Curacao News platform inclusive of The state of journalism throughout The Dutch Caribbean and its status in transparency. In the agreement with the then; newly founded; Dutch Caribbean News Association, JJosephaNews and Caribbean News Now Network, The JJosepha News Trust Principles were created to ensure factual homogeneity immune from political bias and favoritism.
The JJosepha News Trust Principles formulated and imposed obligations upon JJosephaNews and JJosephaNews Network, and any and all of its volunteers and or its workers; to act accordingly at all times with integrity, trustworthiness, independence, and freedom from bias and favoritism in nature of news reporting, along with an inherently higher degree of responsible journalistic behavior with analytical independence to search for and reveal the truth; as it is.
JJosephaNews Network prime directive shall be to protect, defend and preserve The JJosepha News Trust Principles at all times; that was established in February 2015 in the Agreement of Curacao News; and amended when JJosephaNews became autonomous in February 2018 and independent in February 2019.
A unique structure was establish to nurture, develop, mature and evolve this statue and its Trust Principles, hence the independence of freelance news contributors, reporters, journalists and an assistant deputy editor were consolidated, whereby in February 2020; JJosephaNews would split its equity by 40% to complete it's formation; as a semi-privately held; but limited liability corporate.
Our legal structure has evolved over time and "The JJosepha News Founders Share" and other contractual arrangements confer a number of special rights upon "The JJosepha News Founders Share"; which includes, but is not limited to:
- (i) "The JJosepha News Founders Share" has enhanced voting rights in circumstances where someone or some group is seeking to obtain a significant shareholding in, or acquire controlling interest of, JJosepha News.
- (ii) The prior consent of "The JJosepha News Founders Share", must be sought prior to undertaking any sale of equity and or assets, or other material transaction involving, the JJosepha News business unit.
JJOSEPHA NEWS OBLIGATIONS TO UPHOLD OUR STANDARD AND TRUST PRINCIPLES
JJosepha News itself is obliged and committed to apply The JJosepha News Trust Principles to its operations.
The charter documents of JJosepha News Network Corporation includes provisions to safeguard The JJosepha News Trust Principles as they apply to the JJosepha News business and require JJosepha News Directors, in the execution of their duties and the performance of their responsibilities to constantly, consistently and profusely have due regards and guidance to The JJosepha News Trust Principles, by the proper exercise of their powers and in accordance with their other duties as Directors.
THE JJOSEPHA NEWS TRUST PRINCIPLES ARE
- (i) That JJosepha News shall at no time pass into the hands of any one interest, group, or faction.
- (ii) That the integrity, independence, and freedom from bias of JJosepha News shall at all times be fully and completely preserved and exercised.
- (iii) That JJosepha News shall supply unbiased and reliable news services to newspapers, news agencies, broadcasters, and other media subscribers and to businesses, governments, institutions, individuals, and others with whom JJosephaNews has or may have contractual obligations to and or with.
- (iv) That JJosepha News shall pay due regard to the many interests which it serves in addition to those of the media.
- (v) That no effort shall be spared to expand, develop, and adapt the news reporting and other services or products of JJosepha News, in order to maintain its leading position in the international news and information business, with specificity to; for and about Curacao; directly, indirectly. inclusively or exclusively.
INDEPENDENCE OF JJOSEPHA NEWS
Readers, Subscribers, Members, Customers, Clients, Partners, Associates and Guests; locally, nationally, regionally, internationally and globally rely and depend on JJosepha News to:
- (a) Provide factual and analytical data driven information and;
- (b) Present responsible, reliable, transparent, impartial and objective news.
This symbiotic dual functionality; means and ensures that; JJosepha News and JJosepha news Network (JNN), have a special need to safeguard our integrity and independence; but also to eliminate any favoritism in reporting the issues; or to avoid any bias that could or may arise from control by specific individuals, collectives, groups, sectors or interests. Hence; The JJosepha News Trust Principles were adopted in 2015 and includes the preservation of integrity, trustworthiness, responsibility and reliability of news, development of the news business, and related principles.
Today, The JJosepha News Trust Principles are evermore paramount and fundamental to our operation, management and perspective!
