Willemstad, Curacao. 26th March, 2022. During an interview, Curacao former minister of Justice and now member of Parliament: Mr. Quincy Girigorie (political party PAR), expressed his concerns regarding the lack of directions within the government. Apparently, he wants the Prime Minister: Mr. Gilmar "Pik" Pisas, to explain, what are his plans to lead the country. Girigorie also explained, that the Prime Minister, should explain more regarding the concept law COHO.
THE INTERVIEW
Among other things, Girigorie expressed: “We are taking note, as the PAR fraction with worry, with the lack of communication from Mr. Pisas. It is causing a lot of problems and misunderstanding both within the community and within Parliament. We toke note with the discussions that are happening, because Mr. Pisas did not came to Parliament, we are discussing within Parliament and in the community; which car motor will carry us to Bonaire? I want to repeat! Which car motor will carry us to Bonaire? I think that you can understand that, that expression does not square! But, what does it mean? We are speaking about the vehicle without speaking about the final destination. If you want to go to Banda Abou area, you can go with a car, if you want to go to Bonaire, you will go with a boat or a plane. The destination will determine the vehicle that will carry you where you need to go. The only one who can tell us, which destination he wants to carry this Country to and why COHO is adequate, that he prepared to carry us there, is Mr. Pisas. But the only person that is not speaking on this topic within the community is Mr. Pisas. Because, he is not doing this, because he negated to come to Parliament and let Parliament to be the one inviting experts to give their opinion about the vehicle, is bringing bad understanding, bad communication within the community and we are discussing without feed, without head on the vehicle, without looking for the destination that our country needs to go!”
Girigorie continued: “We are speaking, but, we are not speaking about the future of Curacao at all! The people are not interested in COHO, the people are interested in what developments are there for the people! What would it mean for our education? What would it mean for our economy, for us to work? What does it mean for the services that we receive from the government? What COHO will mean for us? That's the only thing that we don't speak about. It was the Pisas cabinet who negotiated COHO and instead of talking about what does it mean for the Curacao community, we allow discussions about, what authorities COHO has, which are very interesting discussions. The PAR fraction also has questions about them, but if we don't speak on, what does it mean for Curacao, we will fall again on the discussions without feed and head, emotional, that there it is three (3) Makamba (white Dutch people), that it is yes or no instead of us speaking about the development of this country! And the only one, one year after the elections, that can speak on what directions he is going to carry this country to, is, Mr. Pisas, which is the leader of the cabinet and until today he is not doing this.”
