CAN SAME SEX COUPLES MARRY IN CURACAO?

Willemstad, Curacao. March 25th, 2022. Curacao's government plans to appeal the court's decision on the "same-sex marriage prohibition". In September of 2021, a judge determined that the prohibition on same-sex marriage in Curacao, is unconstitutional.
LGBTQ+ AND THE CONSTITUTION
Last year (2021), the human rights organization 'Human Rights Caribbean' (HRC), filed a lawsuit against the government. The judge then concluded that the prohibition on same-sex marriage was "unlawful discrimination", violating the principles of equality and nondiscrimination.
Curacao Prime Minister: Mr. Gilmar "Pik" Pisas, suggested that he would appeal the verdict shortly after it was issued last year, but his response has just recently been sent to Curacao Parliament. Gay couples in Curacao, according to the Prime Minister, can easily organize their legal and financial issues by using a cohabitation contract and a will, among other things. It is unknown when the appeal will be heard.
