Mr. Gilmar "Pik" Pisas (political party MFK), the Prime Minister of Curacao, paid a visit to the headquarters of the "Al Habtoor Group" on March 29th and was greeted by Mohammed Al Habtoor (son of the vice-chairman and CEO of the Al Habtoor Group), with whom he discussed investment potential for the Dutch island. The Ambassador of the Netherlands and the rest of the delegation accompanied the Prime Minister as well.    INVESTMENTS FOR CURACAO? According to the Al Habtoor Group site: “The Al Habtoor Group has grown with the United Arab Emirates. What started out as a small engineering firm in 1970, is today one of the region’s most respected conglomerates with interests in the hospitality, automotive, real estate, education and publishing sectors.”  The Prime Minister is currently in the Middle East for Expo Dubai 2020, where he will be exploring investment prospects in the United Arab Emirates. Ruisandro Cijntje (PNP), Minister of Economic Development, is also a member of the delegation.  Expo 2020 is a World Expo that will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was rescheduled from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021.
