For this upcoming King's Day (April 27th), there is no longer any need to apply for a stand permit (sales spot). Minister Ruisandro Cijntje (PNP) of Economic Development (MEO), requested an exemption from the permission, which was approved by the Council of Ministers. KING'S DAY EVENTS King's Day (Koningsdag) is a national holiday in the Netherlands and the Dutch Caribbean, which includes Curacao, on April 27th. Every year, the Kingdom honors King Willem Alexander's birthday on that date. The countries host street fairs (Street Market), traditional children's activities, and adult entertainment and merriment. It's a day for everyone to get together and have a good time! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the countries government has halted the mass gatherings by not celebrating King's Day as custom. This year will be different for Curacao. The island will allow the King's Day celebration this year, where the countries organizers of events and activities within the areas of Otrobanda and Punda and Pietermaai District, must go to the permit counter to register. Anyone who want to sell things at a stall/stand, do not need to apply for a temporary permission. Candidates for product sales might contact the organizers of markets and other events in their desired location. Fact Check: We strive for accuracy and fairness.
