IS FOOD SAFETY  STILL AN ISSUE IN CURACAO?

Curacao food health and hygiene is on the line one more time.

FOOD STORES
Some of the local supermarkets in Curacao seems to be selling spoiled and expired products and maybe even backdating to deceive the public.

FOOD INSPECTION
The Curacao Healthcare and Food Control Department, appears to be far from making a change on how these supermarkets and small food stores are behaving and conducting business for food consumers.

CURACAO CORNER 
A resident from Rio Canario said the following; "Look, the food that we buy at the Chinese small stores and at the supermarkets do not seem to be bad at first, after you get home and it is time to prepare the food, you see or taste the real thing and can even get sick. After you got sick, you be trying to figure out why you got so sick, not knowing that they sold you a spoiled product."
"You can take these people to court. I do not have the money to pay for a lawyer and some government people like the prime minister and even lawyers are friends with these store owners. There will not be justice anyways against the abusive food store owners. I think it is a common problem everywhere in Curacao and I feel like there is no justice for consumers in Curacao."
"What is the government doing to bring equality and justice? To me, it seems that they are encouraging these store owners bad behavior against the poor, by allowing them to take advantage of us, the poor. But, they will see in the next election, what us poor people will say."
