Willemstad, Curacao. When it was announced that Curacao's Prime Minister, Mr. Gilmar "Pik" Pisas (political party MFK), and a delegation were visiting Dubai, some members of the Curacao community voiced concerns about how the country's money were being used, since the country's economy is bleeding.
NON-DISCLOSED BUDGET
The Prime Minister led a delegation to Dubai this week to assist with the World Expo. Reportedly, the prime ministers and his two employees travel budgets totaled to more than 70.000 guilders (this exclude the daily allowance). The costs of the seven (7) members in the team for the Minister of Economic Development: Mr. Ruisandro Cijntje (political party MFK), on the other hand, were kept hidden from the public. The group's size was also criticized, but the prime minister claimed that Curacao's accomplishment would have been far more outstanding if the delegation had been larger, concluding that size matters in Arab countries. According to the Prime Minister, his daily hotel room cost 500 dollars.
According to the site of internations: "The average cost of living for family of four is about about 12,000 AED per month (3,000 USD). Without rent, this includes items such as groceries, transport, leisure activity, and eating out at restaurants. A single person can expect to pay about 3,000 AED (800 USD)."
