OIL PRICES INCREASING SHARPLY

Willemstad, Curacao. March 25th, 2022. On Tuesday, both gasoline (petrol) and diesel fuel prices will skyrocket. The price of gasoline will increase by sixteen cents (0.16). Currently, the public pays 2.47 guilders per liter of gasoline. The price of diesel oil is currently 1.90 guilders, but it will rise by more than 36 cents on Tuesday.

 

OIL, WATER AND ELECTRICITY

Curoil has been supplying fuel to the Caribbean for over 35 years. With petroleum operations on the islands of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao, they now have a strong presence in the Southern Caribbean (ABC Islands). Curoil's subsidiary firms Curgas, Curoil Gas station, Curoil Bonaire, and Curoil Aruba provide part of their services on the ABC islands.

Curoil indicated that the rise based on purchase prices will be much larger, but that it will be phased in over the next few months to soften the blow.

Next Friday, the cost of a kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity will rise by more than 2 cents. The first 250 kilowatt hours (kWh) cost little over 0.67 cents. The public will pay a bit more than 0.82 cents in the highest rate group.

At about 0.10 cents per thousand liters, water is also rising, for the first nine cubic (9) meters, a cubic meter will cost nine guilders as of Friday, April 1, 2022. Every thousand liter costs 16.10 guilders for everyone who consumes more than twenty cubic meters per month.
