Willemstad, Curacao. Centerstage last night had all eyes pinned at Progressive Field, home of The Cleveland Indians as they hosted the Chicago Cubs in The MLB 2016 World Series Championship.

Catcher; Roberto Perez's 2 homeruns assisted indians in a 6-0 defeat over the Chicago Cubs, who threatened twice with a comeback during game 1 but without rewards.
Corey Kluber starting pitcher for The Indians, [stats: 6 IP, 0 BB, 4 H, 0 R, 9 SO], set a record with 8 Strikeouts first at bat for the first 3 innings. Then it was left to relieve Indians pitcher; Andrew Miller; [stats: 2 IP, 2 BB, 2 H & 3 K's] in Game One, 46 pitch winning performance; commented that during the top of the 7th when he came in, what helped him navigate thru it all after he gave-up the walk, a hit and then loaded up the diamond with a full base, was as he said, "I trusted our defense and trust our catcher".

Cleveland Indians are 8-1 in the postseason this season and statistics show that 12 out of the 13 times in recent MLB history that the winner of game 1 has gone home as World Series Champion, but the Indians are remaining humble with everyone quoting the same line to news reporters, that they aren't taking anything for granted and that it is going to be a hard fight for the championship. Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday at 7pm, followed by Game 3, 4 and 5 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively; if the need be.

One of the lime-lighters of the series was, the 22 year old Puerto Rican shortstop for Cleveland; Francisco M. Lindor,  who commented that he is living a dream to be playing in the major league World Series; having the fans shout and scream his name like there do. For many in Curacao, the World series reminded many curasaleno baseball enthusiast and youth players; that the dream is just an arm reach away.

Since 1989, The Major League Baseball has had 14 Curasalenos playing, and 50% of them are still active. Andruw Jones was the youngest Curasaleno to play Major League Baseball at 19 years old, but all were free agent drafts, who did not attend College/University except for Andrelton Simmons who attended Western Oklahoma State College.

Curacao has a comparatively larger index Baseball players in professional league per national capita, and many agree and commented that Curacao has the talent and the skills to have still more baseball players in professional league, if only the government would just wisely appropriate more money towards Education, Sports and good negotiation deals with bilateral relationships, this thus involves the Ministry of Education & Sports and The Ministry of Economic Development.
