Willemstad, Curacao. The 112th series of The US Major League Baseball Championship series featured a battle that came down to the line after a 9th inning rain delay between the Cleveland Indians; the American League champions and the Chicago Cubs; the National League champions. tied 3-3 in the 2016 World series.

For 108 yrs the city failed to to be blessed with the coveted MLB world series championship trophy, but today no more! Literally the dark rain clouds roll on, the night time skies  open up and when the sun dawned the morning it was the Chicago Cubs that survived a Cleveland Indians take-over after 68 years of a Indian MLB championship drought (since 1948).

Alex; a die hard curasaleno - Cleveland Indians baseball fan commented after the fat lady sung her last chord in the 2016 World Series championship; "Hey; We came close but no cigars! It's just like Alex Rosaria and PAIS, big expectations but no return, The rain came down and they lost, now the Indians lost, now Koeiman in power and the Chicago Cubs win, but guess what; they both deserve it".

The Chicago Cubs in a hole down 3-1 games in the series, fought back night after night against all the odds; that they would not be denied the game 7 victory, which drew down to a 8-7 run; in favor of the cubs;  bottom of the 10th; to hold for the win; and then a throw to first base, that silenced the fat lady singing; “The Indians will take over the World (Series)”!

To win the championship, the cubs; who won the most regular season games had to get past their "Game 1 Bear-whisperers" of Corey Kluber and reliever Andrew Miller, who gave up more runs than they did during the entire postseason play.

The “10 Million Dollar Man”; Chicago Cubs 2nd baseman; Ben Zobrist said. “It was like a heavyweight fight; man. Just blow for blow, everybody playing their heart out. The Indians never gave up, either, and I can’t believe we’re finally standing, after 108 years, finally able to hoist the trophy.
