Willemstad, Curacao. Aqualectra, Curacao's utility company, has initiated an offensive to collect past-due water and power bills. That is the company's answer to the court's decision on March 29th to declare the old Curacao hospital, Sint Elisabeth Hospital (Sehos), bankrupt.
COLLECTION OF 200 MILLION
According to reports, Sehos Hospital owes the utility company over four million guilders. According to Aqualectra, the overall debt level of its clients in Curacao is over 200 million guilders, putting the supply of water and power in jeopardy. As a result, the debt collecting process has begun.
