CATEGORY 5 HURRICANE DORIAN PUNCHES THE BAHAMAS, REPORTEDLY 1 PERSON MISSING...

Miami, Florida. Hurricane Dorian's development was traced back to a tropical wave over the central Atlantic. On August 23, 2019 has now progressed into a Category 5 hurricane. According to Forecaster Zelinsky of the National Hurricane Center, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) governmental weather site on Tropical Weather Outlook as of September 1st 2019 at 2:00pm EDT.

For the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

The National Hurricane Center; (NHC) has issued advisories on Hurricane Dorian, located over The Bahamas Islands at geopositions: 26.5N and 77.1W, and moving westerly at 6 MPH. Under Advisory #33A, Hurricane Dorian's has maximum sustained winds of 185 MPH and a minimum central pressure of 911 mb.

As of 11 a.m. ET, Hurricane Dorian had been deemed the "strongest hurricane in modern record for the northwest Bahamas," according to the NHC.

In 1980 Hurricane Allen Hurricane Power was the strongest that tip the scale at 190 mph winds followed by the latest from Hurricane Dorian. Dorian also tied the 1935 Labor Day hurricane for the strongest Atlantic hurricane landfall on record.

Hurricane Dorian's trajectory over the northwestern islands of Grand Bahama and Abaco puts 73,000 people and 21,000 homes at risk, though the effective size was outward up to 45 km from the eye of the hurricane.

The Bahamas Prime Minister; Dr. Hubert Minnis said in a nationally televised news conference, "Hurricane Dorian is a devastating, dangerous storm approaching our islands".

HURRICANE UPDATE FOR THE SOUTHERN TIP OF EAST COAST OF THE USA

"It's going to stall out... and it hasn't even touched Florida or the southeast [U.S.] coast;" Peter Gaynor, Acting Chief of The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), told Fox News Sunday. "You've got to take this storm seriously!"

US President Donald Trump visited FEMA headquarters last Sunday, where he urged everyone in Hurricane Dorian's path to heed all warnings and evacuation orders from local authorities.

There is now a hurricane watch in effect for Florida's east coast; from north of Deerfield Beach to the Volusia-Brevard County Line, which is the same coastal area that was also under a storm surge watch, in addition a tropical storm watch has been issued for Lake Okeechobee.
