NEW ZEALAND MOSQUES ATTACK LEAVES 49 PEOPLE DEAD!

Willemstad, Curacao. In the city of Christchurch; New Zealand, About forty-nine people were killed in shootings at two mosques. The attack took place today, on Islam’s day of worship.
The New Zealand Prime Minister; Jacinda Ardern said that it could only be described as “a terrorist attack”. The Prime Minister also called the attacks; one of the darkest days in the country’s history.

Forty-one people were killed at the Al Noor Mosque which is near the center of Christchurch, seven people died at Linwood Mosque; in a nearby suburb, one person died in Christchurch Hospital, and 47 were being treated there.


THE NEW ZEALAND SHOOTER!

The suspect posted his manifestos on his Facebook page before the attacks, claiming responsibility for the attacks, expressing white supremacist views and describing himself as the author and coming from a working class Australian family.
At the moment of the attack; a Pakistani worshiper at the Linwood Mosque, was able to fight and take the gun from the suspect, the suspect then flee to a car that was apparently waiting for him..
In a seventeen minute video, seen by The Wall Street Journal, it appeared that a man driving a Silver Subaru Station Wagon with martial music playing on the car stereo. The video appeared was a livestreamed and appeared on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and others.
A spokeswoman for Facebook said that the company removed the video after New Zealand police flagged it and a spokeswoman for Twitter said; the company suspended an account in response to the shooting. On the other hand it was reported that Youtube did not immediately respond to request for comments.

The New Zealand authorities detained the suspects, and charged the 28 year old man with murder for the shootings in Christchurch. According to police, the 28 year old suspect will appear in a Christchurch court tomorrow morning.
The Australian government officials; identified the 28 year old male as an Australian citizen with the name of Brenton Tarrant.
At publishing; It was unknown if there were more than one attacker, but the police took into custody; two additional men and one woman; who all were armed; to investigate whether there was more than one attacker.


WHAT THE POLICE DISCOVERED

The police said that one of the detainees was determined not to be connected to the attack, the other two improvised explosive devices attached to a car were defused.


POLICE INITIATIVES POST-ATTACK

After the attack, municipal offices, schools and other buildings were locked down. The police also asked the countries mosques leaders to close their doors until they could have determined the reasons for the attacks.

The US President #45; Donald Trump, said that, the US stands with New Zealand and offered America’s support. President Donald Trump tweeted:
My warmest sympathy and best wishes goes out to the people of New Zealand after the horrible massacre in the Mosques,”.
Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other countries of the Middle East; have also condemned the attacks, some allegedly claiming that the attacks resemble more of examples of racism and Islamophobia.


NEW ZEALAND GUN CONTROL DID NOT HELP TO STOP THE ATTACK!

The Gun Control community and the whole country may have a question of how could the gunman pass the loop in a country like New Zealand, with a firearm registration rules that appeared to be very effective, showing not much of gun violent incident. One of the requirement for getting a gun in New Zealand are:
  Complete a through background and reference check,
  Complete gun training course and a written theoretical test.

This attack may bring some problems or solutions to the US and its Gun advocates who don’t require their guns to be registered.
