Willemstad, Curacao. 29th March, 2022. Curacao's tax authorities are planning to pursue former residents in an attempt to recoup more than 36 million guilders.
THE COLLECTION
The tax authorities will pursue 16.000 former inhabitants, according to the First Monthly Management Report (FMMR). Since 2018, the previous residents have been de-registering with the Civil Registrar Office (Kranshi). Contacts were made with the Fiscal Affairs Directorate (FAD) in Curacao and the Central Liaison Office (CLO) in the Netherlands, according to the report. The Caribbean Netherlands' Tax (CNT) and Customs Administration (CN) has likewise shared its worldwide collection experiences via the Central Liaison Office. In conjunction with the Special Collection Team (SCT) leader, the local Support Team (ST) will decide which steps are next.
