CURACAO'S NETFLIX CASE: ONE MONKEY, 67 KGS. OF DRUGS, AMMUNITION AND 10 MEN ARRESTED

Monkey found in Netflix case, could this be a carrier of the Corona virus intended for the USA?



Willemstad, Curacao. On Friday August the 14th, The Penal Court of First Instance (PCFI); treated the "Netflix" case for the second time."


BACKGROUND ON THE NETFLIX CASE: 
On Sunday, February the 16th; in the morning, the Rescue and Coordination Center of the Customs department detected a suspicious boat in the area of the "Fuikbaai Beach".

At that point, "Coördinatie Centrum" (RCC) directed a Coast Guard unit to the location to do more investigations.
When they got there, they found a boat type "yola" with 3 Venezuelans on board.

The Venezuelans and the boat were carried to the Coast Guard's pier in the area of Parera and the Venezuelans were given over to The Curacao Police Corp (KPC).

At the same time, RCC detected two additional suspicious boats in the Fuikbaai Beach area, where they had sent the Metal Shark Boat.

A Coast Guard unit was also sent to the location and the police and Customs department were informed.

When the Metal Shark got there, a local boat with local people were found on board.
The people on board were detained, and carried to the pier in the area of Parera and given over to the police.
 
After a search in the Parera area, some packages assumed to be narcotic Drugs, two (2) buckets with Weapons and Ammunition and a MONKEY were found.



THE NETFLIX CASE: 
On Friday, Fiscal; Mr. Bos; dubbed the case; "Netflix".

The fiscal, convinced Judge Stephen Lieshout and the defense lawyers to postpone the official treatment of the case until November the 18th.

During the preliminary treatment of the case, it was confirmed that 67 Kgs. of marijuana were confiscated and 10 persons arrested.
During the operations, it was discovered that, the coincidence of the boats were about contacts between the two boats from Curacao and one Go-fast boat.
The tree boats were confiscated, and the foreigners that came to Curacao undocumented were detained.
The boats and the detainees were carried to the Santa Barbara pier for more investigations.

During the investigations, some backpacks were found and in the backpacks the investigators discovered drugs and fire arms.

ONLY MALES ARRESTED IN NETFLIX CASE: 50% CURASALENOS AND 50% VENEZUELANS
Five (5) Curasalenos were arrested in this case:  Burney M. and Ingemar N. and three (3) other men; with the same last name initial. Also; five (5) Venezuelan men: Vasquez, Hurtado, Rodriquez; Guero and Azis Moris; were also arrested.


JUDGE LIESHOUT REQUESTED BETTER PHOTOS BY THE OM OFFICE 
During the preliminary treatment of the Netflix case, Judge Stephen Lieshout informed the Public Ministry (OM); "try presenting the case with better photos when the official case starts".


POSTPONEMENT OF THE NETFLIX CASE 
The Defense Attorney: Mr. Dickens; explained to the Judge that his clients were ready for the trial, however; Judge Lieshout asked for understanding to why the trial was postponed which included: 
  1. The COVID-19 period
  2. Summer Vacations
  3. The demonstrations occurring in prison; SDKK.
