The road to the 2018 NBA finals crossed 16 of 30 teams among two conferences; in the East led by the Cleveland Cavaliers, and in the West led by the Golden State Warriors.
East Round 1: Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers | Milwaukee Bucks vs Boston Celtics | Washington Wizards vs Toronto Raptors | Indiana Pacers vs Cleveland Cavaliers
East Conference Semifinals: Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics | Toronto Raptors vs Cleveland Cavaliers
East Conference Finals: Boston Celtics vs Cleveland Cavaliers*
Cleveland Cavaliers* (NBA East Conference Champion)
West Round 1: Golden State Warriors vs SA Spurs | New Orleans Pelicans vs Portland Trailblazers | Utah Jazz vs Oklahoma Thunder | Minnesota Timberwolves vs Houston Rockets
West Conference Semifinals: GS Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans | Utah Jazz vs Houston Rockets
West Conference Finals: GS Warriors* vs Houston Rockets
GS Warriors* (NBA West Conference Champion) Byron Scott stated about the favourite to win the 2018 NBA Finals Championship: “Lebron James needs three other players to show up along with him having a career finals performance in order to have a puncher’s chance, but anything is possible.”
JJosephaNews took the opportunity to ask Curasalenos, what they thought about the 2018 NBA Finals Championship series between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Henri C. from Otrobanda said, “Lebron don’t love Curacao, so why should I support him or his team, he don’t love us so why should we love him! I wish Steph Curry beat them so bad, he leaves Cleveland.”
James A., a Westpunt tourist, said, “Golden State will take this in five games, and that is, if Cleveland is lucky enough to squeeze out a win; out of the first two games, other than that it’s all over for them and Lebron; The fat lady has already sung.”
Sanjay S. from Salina said, “Golden State Warriors has Steph ‘Shot your eyes out Curasaleno Chicken’ Curry, Draymond ‘The Vegetable’ Green; whose far more mature and developed in his basketball-craft, Klay Thompson, Kevin ‘Sweet N Sour’ Durant and a bench full of other side orders.”
Harry M., a married transgender from Buena Vista, said, “I bet 5 to 1 on the warriors. The King is good but he has no ‘merry ole men’ to consistently support him. It’s sad but you saw how he looked at the owner and shook his hands when they were officially accepting the conference championship, he was like pissed. JJosephaNews should handle the coverage, but Cavaliers will be gone in four; four means finish, Lebron knows that!”
Gerri S., a LGBTIQ from Montana Rey, said, “Many people don’t know that Curacao is one of the capitals of the world in online gambling and betting, and the odds don’t look good for Cleveland, this might be a repeat of the 2007 championship against the San Antonio Spurs, that is the 11-year-old curse that Lebron carries with him, we heard that Lebron don’t like Curacao, well best of luck to him, then we don’t like him either; if that’s the case. This used to be King James Territory now King Willems has demanded it back.”
The big screen in Otrobanda, Willemstad, will be showing the game live on Thursday if you’re in Curacao.
