DONALD TRUMP IMPEACHED, NOW WHAT?

Willemstad, Curacao. On the 18th of December The United States of America's (USA) President: Donald John Trump, was impeached by the Democratic-led House of Representatives. 

ACCUSATIONS 

President Trump was accused by the Democratic-led, House of Representatives; with the exception of  few other democrats; for:

• 1. Obstruction of Congress and 
• 2. Abuse of power related to his dealings with Ukraine.

WHY WAS PRESIDENT DONALD JOHN TRUMP IMPEACHED?

The votes on impeachment came after more than two months inquiry by the House Democrats, who accused the president of pressuring the Ukrainians to open an investigation into the President's political rival and the former 44th USA President: Barack Obama's, former Vice President Joe Biden. 

Joe Biden is also a frontrunner in the 2020 Democratic presidential race. The democrats, also charged President Donald Trump that he obstructed their investigation by refusing to comply with their subpoenas and directing members of his administration to do the same.

WILL DONALD TRUMP BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE?

The impeachment votes made President Donald Trump the third (3rd) president in the United States of America's history to be impeached.

• 1. Andrew Johnson (Democratic); was the first US President to go thru the process of  being impeached on February 24th 1868, but not convicted; 
• 2. Richard Nixon (Republican); resigned before he could be impeached in 1974; 
• 3. Bill Clinton (Democratic); was impeached on December 19th 1998, but not convicted.

The 17th United States president, Johnson was a member of the Democratic Party.
The 37th United States president, Richard Nixon, was a member of the  Republican Party.
The 42nd United States president, Bill Clinton, was a member of the  Democratic Party.
The 45th United States president, Donald Trump, is a member of the  Republican Party.

The impeachment setted the likely stage for a trial in the Republican-led Senate in January of 2020, where the Democrats must try to obtain a 2/3rd majority vote in favor; in order to remove US President #45; Donald J. Trump.

As of to date, no US president has ever been removed from office via the impeachment process; which is set out in The US Constitution. Furthermore; Republican senators do not appear to agree on removing or considering Donald John Trump, unfit for the office of the US Presidency.

In over 230 years of US history, it seems a predictable indicator that; possibly a sitting US president will never be removed from office by impeachment, therefore the implications are retrospective for political campaign purposes primarily.

DID DONALD TRUMP COMMIT A CRIME AGAINST THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TO BE IMPEACHED AND REMOVED FROM OFFICE?

The United States of America's Constitution says that presidents and other federal officials can be impeached for "Treason, Bribery and other High Crimes and Misdemeanors." Following history no president has faced impeachment articles for treason or bribery; all impeachment cases so far came down to what Congress considered to be "High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

On July 25th, President Donald Trump holded a 30-minute telephone conversation with Ukraine's new president: Volodymyr Zelensky, a former professional comedian who was elected in May by the Ukrainian people. 

Earlier in July, President Trump suspended hundreds of millions of dollars in military assistance to Ukraine, which had been approved by Congress but not released. The democrats belief that because President Donald Trump did withhold the money without explanation he was pressuring the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On August the 12th, an anonymous whistleblower in the US intelligence community filed an internal complaint about President Trump and President Zelensky call, the whistleblower described it as a matter of "urgent concern".

On September 11th, the military assistance (money) to Ukraine was released by the White House.

On September the 24th the impeachment investigation started by the Democrats in the House of Representatives. They opened an impeachment inquiry for abuse of power against President Donald Trump.

This was following days of reports that President Trump pushed President Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

After the Democrats opened an impeachment inquiry for abuse of power against President Donald Trump, on September the 25th The White House released a transcript of the Trump-Zelensky call.

In the call President Trump raised concerns to the Ukrainian leader about Hunter Biden and a so called corrupt company; "Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings" and to probe the Bidens and to "look into" the matter with Rudy Giuliani (President Trump's personal lawyer) and with the US Attorney General William Bill Barr.

Hunter Biden joined the Burisma Holdings board in April 2014.

On September the 26th, The House Intelligence Committee released the whistleblower's complaint, which accused President Trump of "using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 US election" and also accused the White House officials of seeking to "lock down" access to the call transcript because of its politically sensitive nature.

But, the transcript were later released, thereby making the whistleblower's claims 100% unbelievable!

Following witnesses closed-door testimony in October, the House Intelligence Committee started public hearings (November 13-21).

Those testifying on live television included top envoy to Ukraine:

• 1.) William Taylor
• 2.) Marie Yovanovitch; former US ambassador to Ukraine
• 3.) Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman; White House National Security Council member.

The US envoy to the European Union and Trump ally; Gordon Sondland; told lawmakers, he followed President Trump's orders in seeking a "quid pro quo" deal.

Afterwards, it came to clarity that the United States of America's President Donald Trump, did not ask for a "quid pro quo" deal and said; he doesn't want nothing to do with a "quid pro quo" deal.

A final, 300-page report on the House investigation into Trump allegedly found; "overwhelming" evidence of misconduct in office and obstruction by the president, and was released on December  3rd.

The House Judiciary Committee; unveiled only two articles of impeachment against President Trump:

• 1) Abuse of power and
• 2) Obstruction of Congress

It was claimed that the US president abused his office and deserved to be removed.

On December 18th; the vote of 230 to 197 made President Donald Trump the third president in US history to be impeached.

However; none of the articles of impeachment included any criminal charges against President Donald Trump and the democrats did not want to pursued the courts to declare President Donald Trump Guilty or Innocent.

The Ukrainian President openly said that he did not felt pressured by President Donald Trump.

JUMPING OUT OF THE TITANIC OR POLITICAL PARTY?

Michigan Rep. Justin Amash who left the Republican Party over his opposition to President Donald Trump, and now identifies as an independent, voted in favor of the first article (Abuse of power).

New Jersey Rep. Jeff Van Drew and Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota (both Democrats), voted against the first article of impeachment.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, who is also vying for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, voted "present."

Justin Amash voted in favor of the second article (Obstruction of Congress), Van Drew and Peterson voted against it, as did Democratic Rep. Jared Golden of Maine, and again Gabbard voted "present" once more.

December 18th historical impeachment vote came after more than 9 hours of debate and 21 years almost exactly since #42 President Bill Clinton; (husband of Hillary Clinton - former presidential opponent to Donald Trump in the 2016 US Presidential Race, whom lost).

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER IMPEACHMENT?

Some experts political experts hypothesize that the Democratic party appears to be intentionally trying to lose the 2020 US Presidential election.

History shows that when impeachment inquiry happens, the party accusing the opposition always loses the follow Presidential election and in some case the House and Congress.

Van drew declared; that a young democratic member appeared to be intimidating him if he did not vote in favor of impeachment.

If Van Drew is telling the truth, he must press charges because, they are impeding the will of the people that he represents.

If people in power can intimidate others in power, what would they do to the common Joe?

On December the 20th, president Trump tweeted the following;

"....and has my FULL Endorsement. This is a BIG win for our GOP and a BIG win for South Jersey. South Jersey is TRUMP COUNTRY, so I know ALL NJ Republicans will join me in supporting Jeff Van Drew. The Dems are already coming after him, so help Jeff win."

THE TWIST THAT NOBODY EXPECTED

On Dec. 17th; President Donald Trump, sent a lashing six-page letter to Nancy Pelosi; Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

In the letter, he detailed his grievances, calling his expected impeachment "a perversion of justice and abuse of power." "More due process was afforded to those accused in the Salem Witch Trials," Trump wrote, referring to the well known prosecutions and executions of those accused of witchcraft in the late 1600s.

President Trump argued that the American people would reject impeachment by voting for him and the Republican Party in next year's 2020 election.

The President also stated; "I have no doubt the American people will hold you and the Democrats fully responsible in the upcoming 2020 election,"

"Your legacy will be that of turning the House of Representatives from a revered legislative body into a Star Chamber of partisan persecution."

Because the impeachment party wasn't over, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now not sure when or if she will send the articles of impeachment to the Senate. 

It appears that she thought that by withholding them; the Democrats; can force Senate Majority Leader; Mitch McConnell, to cave and demand that White House officials testify to favor the Democrats impeachment process against President Donald Trump.

McConnell tried to explain to news sources; "you can’t get leverage by refusing to give someone something they don’t want".

Here’s what President Donald Trump said on a tweet: 

“So after the Democrats gave me no Due Process in the House, no lawyers, no witnesses, no nothing, they now want to tell the Senate how to run their trial. Actually, they have zero proof of anything, they will never even show up. They want out. I want an immediate trial!”

Many perceived the President's Tweet as not about demanding a trial, but about calling the Democrats cowards, because of a next tweet President Trump tweeted few minutes later, saying; 

“The House Democrats were unable to get even a single vote from the Republicans on their Impeachment Hoax. The Republicans have never been so united! The Dem’s case is so bad that they don’t even want to go to trial!”

On a tweet, President Trump said the following;

"Nancy Pelosi is looking for a Quid Pro Quo with the Senate. Why aren’t we Impeaching her?"
