Last weekend; a container with cocaine was found at the Curacao naval base in Parera, after a criminal search was conducted on the 28th of June.
An undefined amount of cocaine was seized during the criminal search conducted by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (Royal Police) (military police), lead by the Curacao Public Prosecution Office (OM).
The search was based on an investigation by the Public Prosecution Office (OM).
Apparently, the Ministry of Defense has already provided the necessary cooperation in the criminal search.
The Netherlands armed forces contribute to stability on the island, with a workforce of about 58,000. In the container were personal items from the 30th rotation in the West. The container on the naval base of Parera was destined for Schaarsbergen, the Netherlands, which the air mobile brigade is based at.
Presently, no reports of arrests have been made.
The Marechaussee (Royal Police) (military police) did not make any statements about the extent of drug trafficking.
There will be further criminal investigation into the seized drugs.
In the best interest of the investigation, no further announcements will be made.
