Willemstad, Curacao.On February 15th 2019; the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated five officials aligned with the alleged illegitimate former President Nicolas Maduro, who is reported to continue to repress democracy and democratic actors in Venezuela and engage in significant corruption and fraud against the people of Venezuela.
THE INFAMOUS FIVE
According to Executive Order (E.O.) 13692, written under Former President Barrack Obama, it targets:
- Manuel Ricardo Cristopher Figuera, the head of the Venezuelan National Intelligence Service (SEBIN);
- Hildemaro Jose Rodriguez Mucura, SEBIN’s First Commissioner;
- Ivan Rafael Hernandez Dala, the Commander of Venezuela’s Directorate General of Military Counter-Intelligence;
- Rafael Enrique Bastardo Mendoza, Director of the Venezuelan National Police’s Special Actions Force (FAES); and
- Manuel Salvador Quevedo Fernandez, the alleged “illegitimate” President of Venezuela’s state-owned oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PdVSA).
President Donald Trump’s Treasury Secretary; a former investment banker; said; “The Treasury continues to target officials who have helped the illegitimate Maduro regime repress the Venezuelan people. We are sanctioning officials in charge of Maduro’s security and intelligence apparatus, which has systematically violated human rights and suppressed democracy, including through torture and other brutal use of force”.
FIVE OR MORE OF CURACAO’S MINISTERS MAYBE NEXT UNDER INVESTIGATIONS….
Stef Blok, Netherlands minister declared their recognition of Juan Guaido’s interim presidency.
Allegedly Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath has not declared that he recognizes Juan Guaido’s interim presidency over the alleged illegitimate presidency of Nicolas Maduro.
Suzy Camelia-Romer; minister of health, has recently implied that Stef Blok, should not speak on behalf of Curacao. However; according to the responsibilities of The Netherlands, they do have every rights and authority to do so.
Reportedly; a pro-Maduro supporter, Curacao’s former minister of economic development, Steven Martina; (who received the most votes in the political party; MAN’s 2017 National General Election); resigned recently in the face of criminal allegations where “his actions” are being investigated, not “his conscious”. What will happen if these Curacao ministers are not on board with Netherlands and the USA stance of humanitarian aid and the pro-Juan Guaido interim presidency? Apparently 2 other ministers; Hensley Koeiman and one other, along with 3 other parliamentarians are reportedly staunch supporters of the Pro-Maduro presidency.
Another political insider commented that; “if any of these ministers or parliamentarians are receiving kick-back for their support of the oppression and torture of the Venezuelan people; then that is a big problem; especially if you consider the legitimacy of the Venezuelan Constitution, the law of the land that was drafted by the late Commandante Hugo Chavez, that’s some big problem! Possibly enough to change power or call elections early”.
DEMOCRACY IN CURACAO’S PARLIAMENT WAS MUCH NEEDED DURING BUDGET “NO-DEBATE”.
On March 6th; The Netherlands has set a deadline to the budgetary issues. Now what will Netherlands do? Especially since apparently Curacao’s National debt is greater than a projected 63% with a deviation of (+/- 5%) of the GDP.
Curacao has fail to reduce the debt and with a failing economic climb, and Curacao not standing by Sint Eustatius’s side in solidarity. Some political experts say, now Curacao may be “re-incorporated” like Sint Eustatius was; and there is no one to speak up for Curacao if the same thing happened, Sint Maarten, can’t and probably Aruba won’t. After "The Curasaleno Triad"; of PAR-MAN-PIN majority control; and when Eugene Rhuggenaath gained the prime ministership; allegedly he and the majority, forced the budget down parliament's throat without a proper debate, which lead to many of the opposition parliamentarians walking out of Parliament in their “No Support the Budget Vote stand-out".
One political insider said; “This is a good lesson for all those people who voted in the 2017 Curacao’s National General Election, because look at the apparent trickery versus Democracy, that happened in Parliament after Eugene Rhuggenaath became Prime Minister, the importance of democracy in Curacao’s parliamentary budget debate was thrown out the window.The evil face of dictatorship planted a seed in Curacao’s present and future, the evidence speaks for itself, and the ugly, bias and uncontrollable plutocracy of the untouchables to be above reproach was exemplified. What they did in SVC- Curacao Parliament that day may have been the very straw that broke Curacao’s economic back and the road back into being sold into economic and financial slavery and semi colonization".
